The highest result of education is Tolerance. -Helen Keller
We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it's like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old - and that's the criterion by which I'll be selecting my judges.
In 2000, I voted for Present Bush. On 9/10/2001 I was a "liberal" Republican. On 9/11/2001 I was a distraught Republican. By November, when we bombed the sh*#! out of the Taliban, I was a proud American. By the time we invaded Iraq I was a confused and pissed off American. Six months into the war I was a recovering Republican who ran to the library and changed my party affiliation to a registered Democrat. Tonight, as I hear the never ending phrase on the news: "Another American soldier died in Iraq today," I am a really angry American. Both parties have let down the American "people" (which includes the men and women dying in Iraq) down. Neither party represents me any longer. Let me clearly shout out loud "I Love Our Troops." The best and brightest in America commonly (and proudly) serve in our military. Just another reason why we need to bring them home. The bush administration is killing off our very future. Today, I am simply a Disgruntled American. September 2007
